Position Overview
In your position as Lead Barista, you will be responsible for partnering with the GM to lead team members and to ensure the front end of the cafe runs quickly and at the level set by the company. You will oversee the activities of the other baristas, runners, and staff when they are in the front of the cafe. You need to work at a purposeful pace keeping high quality and excellence in mind. Your position is critical to the successful operation of the restaurant and you will play a key role in supporting both the operational staff and superior customer experience.

Key aspects of the position
● Create a positive guest experience by creating a high level of service.
● Ensuring all team members are engaged in conversations with guests to understand their needs and exceed their expectations.
● Plan, identify, communicate and delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure excellent operations are consistently achieved.
● Manage the ordering process to ensure all beverage, retail and paper items remain stocked in needed quantities for service.
● Provide actionable feedback in areas where performance does not meet Just Love
standards and continually develop communication and leadership skills to more
effectively help improve performance.
● In situations where feedback has been delivered and performance has not improved,
the Lead Barista escalates the behaviors to the general manager and discusses next
steps.

Expectations/Benchmarks
● Running successful shifts including hitting the targeted ticket times.
● Knowledge of all menu items, including food.
● Generate sales growth by consistently delivering a positive guest experience and executing local restaurant marketing and catering initiatives.
● Initiating corrective actions when there are guest issues.

Reports to: General Manager

Probationary Period Your first 90 days will be a probationary period. You are an At-Will employee and the company or you may terminate your employment for any reason during this time period.

Training: We will provide you with a written training manual outlining all aspects of your job and a training outline. This will be a logical progression of training so that all aspects of your position are covered. We will work with you daily to make sure you are properly indoctrinated with our processes, procedures, and the fundamental workings of our company.

Compensation: Your position description and compensation plan may be changed at management’s discretion to support business objectives. Any changes will be communicated prior to a new payroll period starting. A payroll period is a two-week period that the company pays on every other
